
Force Forward Scores First Career A-League Goal

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Cleveland Force and Milwaukee Wave United forward, Anthony Maher, along with teammate, John Ball, both helped secure the win for the Wave United on Sunday July 27, in a 5-1 win over the El Paso Patriots. Maher's goal came in the 90th minute off of Ball's assist.
Maher, who has played in 11 games this season, recorded his first goal of his A-League career. With Ball's two assists that came in the 85th and 90th minute of the game, he has recorded his seventh assist on the season. Ball has also recorded three goals for the Wave United this season.
Milwaukee's victory over the El Paso Patriots secured the Wave United in second place with a 10-8-0 record and 30 points for the 2003 season, just behind the Central Division leading Minnesota Thunder with a record of 11-6-0 and 33 points. After defeating the Patriots twice this weekend, the Milwaukee Wave United still can make a move with 10 games left in the 2003 season.
Maher will be returning to the Cleveland Force for the 2003-2004 season where he left off his first season with the Force with 8 goals and 23 points.
Ball will also be returning for his eighth season where he scored 15 goals and 54 points.
