
Fogal Named Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas (February 12) - The Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that Fort Worth Brahmas netminder Brad Fogal was named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 10.
In two starts, Fogal went 2-0-0 with a 0.48 goals against average and .976 save percentage, allowing only one goal on 42 shots in 124:41 between the posts. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound netminder stopped 18 of 19 shots, including four of five shootout attempts, in the Brahmas' 2-1 win over the cross-town rival Allen Americans Tuesday, February 5. Fogal then earned the first star of the game for his performance during the team's 1-0 win Saturday at Denver, making 23 saves en route to his second shutout of the season.
The Sharon, Ontario native is tied for second in the CHL with two shutouts, trailing only teammate Kristofer Westblom with three. Fogal (12-8-1) has won six of his last 8 starts, dating back to December 22.
This is the sixth accolade awarded to a Brahma this season and first for Fogal. Westblom won Rookie of the Month for January and Goalie of the Week for the period ending December 2. Fort Worth forward John Snowden also has won two awards, earning First Star of the Month honors for January and Player of the Week for the period ending January 13. Phil Fox was also named Player of the Week for the period ending November 18.
The Brahmas finish out their current five-game road trip with back-to-back games versus the Arizona Sundogs in Prescott Valley tonight, Tuesday, February 12 and tomorrow, Wednesday, February 13. The team then returns to the NYTEX Sports Centre to host the Allen Americans Friday, February 15 at 7:30pm for Chad Woollard's final professional game. The first 800 fans in attendance will receive a free Chad Woollard trading card.
