Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs have set a team-high for Season Tickets sold, and are officially sold out of Season Tickets for the 2017-2018 campaign.
The Sea Dogs sold 2,743 Season Tickets, most in team history for one season.
The team saw growth in the number of Season Tickets issued due to a combination of new programs, additional benefits, and two initiatives focused primarily on giving access to youth - the Kids Pass and Port City Kids Rise Program.
"We wanted to ensure that attending a Sea Dogs games is not only accessible to youth, but that attending multiple games is possible as well," said Sea Dogs President and General Manager Trevor Georgie. "Engaging in sport at a young, impressionable age, can be a transforming experience in a person's life."
The Kids Pass, which can be purchased as an extra with any one adult or senior Season Ticket saw 66% growth, from 179 tickets in its launch in 2016-2017 to 297 tickets this season. The Sea Dogs are one of three teams in the QMJHL to offer this program, and the only team in the Maritimes.
The Port City Kids Rise program launched this season is a partnership with local business leaders to give access to tickets to select community group partners for every regular season game. A total of 305 season tickets are offered to the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of Saint John, PRO Kids, PALS and more than twenty others through this program. Platinum sponsors are the Telegraph-Journal, Irving Oil and Hemmings House.
Adults purchasing season tickets saw growth of 11% in 2017-2018 as well.
"Coming off of a banner campaign, you rarely see growth in these areas so we are very pleased," said Vice President of Ticket Sales and Marketing, Ben Zayandehroudi. "This is an indication that the community sees the value of being Season Ticket Members and values the Sea Dogs as not just great hockey, but an evening of entertainment."
This past summer, the Sea Dogs put on a number of Season Ticket Member Exclusive programs, including a Moosehead Breweries tour, Saint John Marina Mix-and-Mingle, Yuk Yuks Night and Scotiabank Town Hall that were well-attended and well-received. These events were capped off by an open-event for the entire community at Kings Square - Sea Dogs Day at the Square, which thousands attended to kickoff the 2017-2018 campaign.
The Sea Dogs wish to thank all their fans in Saint John and around the region for their continued support.
