MADISON, Wisc. - The Flying Aces fell to the Madison Capitols tonight, 4 to 3. The Aces rallied in the third to tie the game after falling behind 3 to 1, but couldn't tie the game again when Madison scored to take the lead back.

Neither team scored in a first period riddled with penalties for both teams.

One minute into the second period, Madison struck first after a slot pass found TJ Koufis alone on the backdoor and he tapped it home to make it 1-0.

The Capitols struck again at 2:43 with a similar cross-slot pass with a tip from Robert Blugers on the backdoor.

At 7:34 in the second, Josh Boyer put the puck on net where it took a weird bounce and went into the net to give the Capitols a 3-0 lead.

Sebastian Dirven (Cornwall, Ont.) shot the puck from the point through traffic at 9:00 in the second to get the Aces on the board. Philip Elgestal (Gotenburg, Swe.) and Max Ellis(Canton, Mich.) assisted on the goal.

At 2:15 in the third, John Driscoll (Littleton, Colo.) shot the puck from the point. Tate Singleton (West Lebanon, NH) got a shot on net and Lynden Breen (Grand Bay-Westfield, NB) shoveled the loose puck past the netminder to reduce the Capitols lead to one.

A little over a minute later, Joe Dunlap (Windham, NH) picked up a loose puck in the Aces zone and brought the puck into the Capitols zone and wristed a puck top-shelf from the right circle to tie the game.

At 13:39 in the third, Christian Berger scored for the Capitols on the power play through traffic to break the tie and make it 4-3.

The Aces continued to push to score the tying goal, outshooting the Capitols 16 to 4 in the third, but to no avail.

The Flying Aces next play at home tomorrow on Saturday, October 26, against the Green Bay Gamblers. The team travels to Youngstown for a three-game battle on November 2, 3, and 5 followed by a match against Dubuque on November 9 before finally returning home on November 10 for Salute to Service Night.
