Flyers rally, beat RiverHawks, 6-3

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Travis Brown had four hits, including a go-ahead home run, as the Schaumburg Flyers beat the Rockford RiverHawks, 6-3, on Wednesday at Road Ranger Stadium.

Brown was 4-for-5 and hit a two-out home run, his second of the year, in the seventh inning off Rockford reliever Mike McTamney (0-1). Mario Delgado also homered for the Flyers, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit.

Rich Austin put the RiverHawks on the board with a two-out RBI single in the third inning and was 2-for-3 with two walks. Evan McArthur added a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.

Delgado led off the fifth with a homer to right-center field and Ron Borquin singled in the tying run in the sixth. Schaumburg added a run in the eighth inning and two in the ninth.

Dustin Glant (6-4) walked a season-high six, but held the RiverHawks to one earned run on five hits over six innings for the win. Brian McCullough gave up a run in the ninth on a Jason James sacrifice fly, but went the final three innings for his first save.

The finale of the 10-game homestand is at 7:05 p.m. Thursday. Busch Jewelers sponsors the Diamond Dig. Ladies are invited to the field after the game to dig a real diamond from the infield. Miller Lite and 2nd Cousin's sponsor Dollar Beer Night.
