Flyboys Swept by First Place Sock Puppets

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Greeneville Flyboys had double the hits of the Burlington Sock Puppets on Friday night, but Greeneville still lost, 7-2.

The Flyboys (12-15) had a hit in every inning except the ninth and 14 in total, but the Sock Puppets (18-9) turned two double plays and caused Greeneville to strand 11 runners to win by five on seven hits.

Burlington picked up where it left off last night by scoring four times in the first inning. The Sock Puppets scored nine unanswered in the final two innings on Thursday to win 10-6. Evan Applewick after hitting two home runs last night got the scoring started with an RBI groundout. James Broderick in his first game with Burlington added two more with a triple and scored on a wild pitch.

Vince Fattore hit his sixth home run of the season in the third inning to make it 5-0. Fattore leads the league in RBIs with 28 and is tied for second in home runs.

Burlington picked up an additional run in the fifth and sixth innings. Seth Dudley (3-1) starte the game for Greeneville and allowed six runs over five innings. Aiden Denlinger pitched the fina four frames and allowed one run in relief.

The Flyboys spoiled the shutout in the seventh inning when Jack Mosh drove home Saborn Campbell. It was RBI 13 for Mosh who leads the league in on base percentage at .500.
