Slippery Rock, PA: The Freedom offense was awoken two nights ago in Slippery Rock, but both offenses were caught in a pitcher's battle last night.
After scoring runs in the third and fourth innings, Slippery Rock was settled down by Freedom reliever Brian McCullough. McCullough went three and two/thirds of scoreless baseball, striking out four. Despite six walks from Slippery Rock pitching, the Freedom offense couldn't push in runs against the scrappy Slippery Rock squad. The lone offensive highlight was Greg Stone, he went 2-3 with two walks in the lead-off spot.
The Freedom will wrap up their six game roadtrip in Slippery Rock tonight at 7:05. You can follow the action with Roger Redmon on 107.9 Class-X or on www.florencefreedom.com. The Freedom return home to Champion Window Field tomorrow night, and will welcome in the Chillicothe Paints for a quick two game series. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 6:05.
