Dreams came true for both Red Deer Rebels prospects projected to be top end picks at the 2014 NHL Draft in Philadelphia Friday night.
Haydn Fleury was the first Rebel to go, becoming a Carolina Hurricane with the 7th pick. This was the 3rd Rebel drafted in the first round by the Hurricanes, following Cam Ward (03) and Brandon Sutter (07).
Conner Bleackley waited 16 more picks before hearing his name called by his favorite team, the Colorado Avalanche at #23.
The NHL Draft wraps up with rounds 2-7 tomorrow morning/afternoon.
