Utah Flash News Release

OREM, UT - The Utah Flash hosted the Los Angeles D-Fenders for the second time in as many days. Just like last night the Flash came out victorious by a score of 126 to 124. Utah secured the overtime victory behind Kevin Kruger's game-high 27 points.

Los Angeles started the game looking for revenge as the D-Fenders jumped out to a 27-25 lead. Ryan Forehan-Kelly notched seven points in the first quarter for Los Angeles.

Heading into the second quarter the D-Fenders continued to push the ball and push their lead. They jumped out to a 38-31 advantage. Utah however, battled back and managed to cut into the lead at the half. Trailing by three, Utah was led by Luke Nevill's 15 first-half points.

Utah carried the momentum from the end of the first half into the third quarter going on a 13-2 run. Kevin Kruger had 10 points in the quarter and Utah led by as score of 88-83 at the end of the third.

Utah maintained a single digit lead during most of the fourth quarter. Los Angeles managed to stay in the game behind the hot hand of Michael Fey who had nine points in the fourth quarter. However, a pair of back-to-back Kevin Kruger put Utah ahead by eight points.

The D-Fenders battled back and tied the game at 114 with two free throws from Fey after Luke Nevill was called for a questionable illegal screen. Utah's last chance effort in regulation fell short and the game went into overtime.

In the overtime period Utah held Los Angeles scoreless for the first three-plus minutes of play but Los Angeles fought back and closed the gap to just two points. Utah sealed the deal with four straight Kruger free-throws.

The Flash were led by Kruger who scored 27 points. Nevill chipped in 25 points and Orien Greene added 17 points for Utah. Fey led the way for Los Angeles with 29 points while Joe Crawford had 28 for the D-Fenders.

The Utah Flash will host the division rival Idaho Stampede Wednesday March 3 at the McKay Events Center. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
