BayHawks Fall To Wizards

ERIE - David Bell had the hot hand for the visiting Dakota Wizards as he made 7 of 12 from three-point range, including dropping six in the first quarter, and finished with 30 points in a 108-103 win over the Erie BayHawks at the Tullio Arena.

Dakota jumped out to a 23-point lead in the second quarter and held off a late charge by Erie that cut the lead to three points at 103-100 with just over a minute to play. But the Wizards knocked down 6 of 7 free throws the rest of the way to seal the win and improve to 19-16.

The BayHawks were led by Danny Green dropping in 36 points, playing in his second game with the team on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers, including six three-pointers of his own. As a team Erie struggled from the free throw line late in the game shooting just 6 of 14 in the fourth quarter. The loss drops Erie to 13-23.

In his D-League debut, Memphis center Hasheem Thabeet notched eight points, grabbed two rebounds and had one blocked shot in 17 minutes 51 seconds of play.

James Jackson added 18 points for Dakota and Erie got 19-point contributions from Ivan Harris and Mike Gansey.
