February 27, 2010 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, Nev.- Guard Richie Frahm, Reno's premier long-distance threat from last season, has been acquired by the Bighorns and will be available for tonight's game, the team announced today.
Frahm appeared in 21 games for the Bighorns last season, averaging 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Despite playing less than half of the season, he led Reno with 83 three-pointers, connecting on 46.9 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.
A 6-foot, 5-inch guard from Battle Ground, Wash., Frahm has played parts of four seasons in the NBA, appearing for Seattle, Portland, Minnesota, Houston and, most recently, the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2007-08 season. In 140 NBA games, Frahm holds career averages of 3.6 points and 1.2 rebounds.
Prior to beginning a professional career that has taken him on a tour overseas, in the NBA and the NBA D-League, Frahm was a standout at Gonzaga University. In four years at Gonzaga, Frahm averaged 12.5 points and helped lead the Bulldogs to two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Elite Eight in the 1998-99 season.
Frahm takes the roster spot vacated by Dave Noel, who has been released. Noel played in 27 games for Reno this season, averaging 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
Frahm and the Bighorns are set for a weekend series against the Tulsa 66ers, beginning tonight at 7 p.m. in the Reno Events Center. Tickets are on-sale now at www.RenoBighorns.com, the Reno Events Center Box Office, Silver Legacy Box Office, or by visiting any Northern Nevada Ticketmaster location or Web site.
