Flames Recall Danny Taylor from Abbotsford

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today they have recalled goaltender Danny Taylor from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. Miikka Kiprusoff will not travel to Dallas due to his wife's pregnancy and the imminent birth of their second child. Additionally, Leland Irving had minor elective surgery on March 12th. The surgery went very well and he is expected to return to play within 2 weeks.

Taylor has appeared in two games with the Flames this season recording a 1-1-0 record including his first career NHL win on March 3rd versus the Vancouver Canucks. Born in Plymouth, England but raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Taylor has backstopped the Flames affiliate in Abbotsford for the past two seasons. This season he is currently first in the AHL with a 1.96 GAA and fifth in save percentage .924%. Taylor was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 7th round (221st overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft.
