Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, by a score of 5-3 this afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
Kenny Ryan's 7th goal of the season opened the scoring at 5:37 of the first period. The middle frame would see both teams score twice with Stefan Elliott and Andrew Agozzino tallying for the Monsters while Brad Ross and Ryan Hamilton notched goals for Toronto. Tyson Barrie tied the game at three at 11:02 of the third period before Jerry D'Amigo notched the game winning goal with under two minutes remaining in regulation. D'Amigo also added an insurance marker into an empty Lake Erie net.
Toronto and Lake Erie will play again in Cleveland on Tuesday night. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
