
Fizer returns to Toros

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 21 - Forward Marcus Fizer has returned to the Austin Toros after completing a 10-day contract with the Seattle SuperSonics. The Toros also waived Scott Merritt due to injury.
Fizer, 6-8, 260, was signed by the Sonics on March 8 but failed to appear in a game. The fourth overall selection in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, Fizer has played in 232 career NBA games with the Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 21.9 minutes, 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds.
He was acquired from the D-League available player pool by the Toros on November 22, 2005 and has played in 30 games (30 starts), averaging 20.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
He is expected to be in uniform tonight when Austin (20-20) is host to Albuquerque (21-19) at the Austin Convention Center.
Merritt played in and started 37 games for the Toros, averaging 27.7 minutes, 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds.
