CONEY ISLAND, NY - For the fifth-straight night, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, were victorious in a one-run contest, beating the Lowell Spinners 8-7 in the middle game of a three-game set at MCU Park to extend their winning streak.

BIG MOMENTS

Brooklyn scored six times in the sixth highlighted by Sam Haggerty's two-run single and Luke Ritter's RBI triple to take an 8-6 lead.

Xavier LeGrant's homer against Garrison Bryant pushed the Lowell lead to 5-1 in the top of the second.

Joe Genord went 2-4 with his team-leading third homer of the season in the third.

NEWS & NOTES

Due to weather, Brooklyn and Lowell played one game Saturday instead of the schedule doubleheader. The doubleheader has been rescheduled for July 30 at MCU Park, becoming a single admission doubleheader with two seven-inning games at 6 p.m.

Brooklyn has won a season-high five games in a row and back-to-back series.

The Cyclones erased their largest deficit of the season (five runs) with their biggest inning output of the season, scoring six in the sixth.
