
Renegades Take Down Tigers in Series Finale

Norwich, CT - Gresuan Silverio went 3-for-4 for the Connecticut Tigers (6-10) but they fell short of a sweep going down 8-2 against the Hudson Valley Renegades (7-9).
Hudson Valley opened the scoring in the first and second inning of the game to take a 2-0 lead. Hill Alexander drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, and Luke Sogard picked up an RBI-single in the first two frames.
Connecticut scratched across their first run in the fourth on an error by the third baseman for the Renegades to make it 2-1. Hudson Valley answered in the top of the fifth with a run on a walk to make it 3-1.
In the sixth inning, the Renegades put up a six spot aided by five walks. Johnathan Embry also added a bases-clearing double in the inning to make it 8-1.
The Tigers added the final run in the ninth on a fielder's choice after a lead-off double by Avery Tuck in the inning to make it 8-2. Andrew Gross finished the contest for Hudson Valley striking out the final batter he faced.
Jack O'Loughlin (Loss, 1-2) went 4.1 innings giving up three runs, two earned, on seven hits with four strikeouts. Nathan Wiles (Win, 1-0) got the win in relief going 3.1 innings with one hit, no runs and four strikeouts
The Connecticut Tigers are back in action tomorrow in their first series against the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
