New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ - The Nashua Pride used five homeruns to keep their postseason heartbeat going strong, in an 8-5 win over the New Jersey Jackals in game four. The best of five series is tied at two wins apiece.

The Pride took a 1-0 lead immediately in their effort to force game five. After a John Ramistella double, and a Jermy Acey groundout, Olmo Rosario drove in his first run of the postseason on a sac fly. But the Jackals would one-up Nashua in the bottom half of the inning when Marcos Rodriguez drove in a pair with a single. After one, the Jackals led 2-1.

The early run scoring continued in the second when a one-out, solo homerun by Brian Duplissie tied the game at two. Two innings later, Duplissie took New Jersey starter Kevin Ool yard once again. His two run homerun in the top of the fourth put the Pride in front 4-2. Nashua's 4-2, was cut to just one in the bottom half of the forth when a Joe Mihalics groundout scored Guillermo Reyes.

In the seventh, the Pride extended to their largest lead of the ballgame at 6-3. A solo homerun by Rich Giannotti and an RBI triple by Chris Colabello did the damage against New Jersey reliever Isaac Pavlik.

New Jersey cut the lead to two in the bottom half of the inning on a Wilton Veras, two out, two RBI double. They then came within a run in the eighth on a Reyes RBI single.

But in the top of the ninth, New Jersey reliever Justin Garza couldn't keep his team close. He surrendered back-to-back homeruns to Chris Colabello and Luis Rodriguez, making the Pride lead 8-5, and that was the final.

Joe Gannon got the win for Nashua. Kevin Ool suffered the loss. The save went to Rich Garces who blanked the Jackals in the ninth.
