Five Former Players off to Frozen Four

The Fargo Force have five former players participating in the 2016 NCAA Frozen Four Hockey Tournament April 7-9 in Tampa, FL after the University of Denver and the University of North Dakota won their regional tournaments this past weekend. The teams will face each other to get to the national championship game on Thur., April 7 at 7:30 PM.

The University of North Dakota defeated Northeastern 6-2 on Fri., March 25 and then Michigan 5-2 on Sat., March 26 to punch their ticket to the Frozen Four. On UND's roster are former forwards Colten St. Clair (2008-11) and Bryn Chyzyk (2011-12), former defenseman Keaton Thompson (2010-11) and former goaltender Cam Johnson (2012-14). Cam Johnson is also up for the Mike Richter Award, with the winner being announced next weekend at the tournament. The award is given to the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA men's hockey.

Former Force defenseman Sean Mostrom (2014-15) currently plays for the University of Denver. Denver defeated Boston University 7-2 on Fri., March 25 and Ferris State University 6-3 on Sat., March 26 to get into the tournament.

There were 10 other former Force players in the tournament that lost out last weekend. On University of Minnesota-Duluth: Willie Corrin (2010-12), Austin Farley (2010-12), Alex Iafallo (2011-13), and Dominic Toninato (2011-13). On St. Cloud State University: Jimmy Murray (2010-11) and Mikey Eyssimont (2013-15). On Yale: John Baiocco (2012-13) and J.M. Piotrowski (2013-14). On Notre Dame: Justin Wade (2010-13) and Jack Jenkins (2014-15).
