
Fishlock, López and White Named to National Teams for October FIFA Window

TACOMA, WA - OL Reign midfielders Jess Fishlock and Rosie White, as well as defender Jimena López and have been called up to their national teams for the October FIFA international match window. Fishlock and Wales will be playing a series of World Cup Qualifying matches, while López and White will be playing in friendly matches with Mexico and New Zealand.
No. 34 ranked Wales first takes on No. 49 ranked Slovenia at Å portni Park Lendava, in Lendava, Solvenia at 11:15 a.m. PT on Friday, October 22. Wales plays their second match against No. 105 ranked Estonia at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales at 11:15 a.m. PT on Tuesday, October 26. Both of these matches are part of the group stage for World Cup qualifying.
Fishlock is a veteran player for Wales, with 125 caps. She was the first Welsh player, man or woman, to reach 100 caps. She most recently played for Wales in the September FIFA window, as they earned World Cup qualifier wins against Kazakhstan and Estonia.
López and No. 28 ranked Mexico will take on No. 35 ranked Argentina on Saturday, October 23 at Estadio Tepa Gómez in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jaliscoat, Mexico at 2:00 p.m. PT. The last time Mexico and Argentina faced off was in July 2015 during the Women's Pan American Games, where Mexico defeated Argentina 3-1.
Most recently, López was called up for the September FIFA window, but did not make an appearance in Mexico's 2-0 win against Colombia. She most recently saw the field when Mexico took on the U.S. Women's National Team in the Summer Series. The two sides played a series of two matches this July, prior to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She made her Mexico Women's National Team debut on February 27, 2019, in a friendly against Italy. Since her debut, López has scored two goals in 25 appearances.
White returns to the New Zealand squad for their friendly matches against Canada. The two teams are set to go head-to-head on Saturday, October 23 at 12:00 p.m. PT at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa, Canada, then again on Tuesday, October 26 at 4:30 p.m. PT at Saputo Stadium in Montreal, Canada.
The 28-year-old has 109 caps and has scored 24 goals for her country. She most recently appeared for New Zealand during the Algarve Cup in 2020, where she played 103 minutes across three games.
