
Fisher Cats Complete Sweep for Sixth Straight Win

MANCHESTER, NH---The Fisher Cats put together five consecutive singles in the bottom of the seventh inning to score two runs en route to a 3-2 win over New Britain and a sweep of a five-game series at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
In the decisive frame, Andy Burns, Michael Crouse (2-for-4, RBI) and Kevin Nolan singled to start the frame. Jack Murphy knocked in Burns with a single up-the-middle for a 2-1 lead and Jorge Flores followed with a run scoring single.
The Fisher Cats (37-44) scored the game's first run in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting together doubles by Mike McDade and Crouse for a 1-0 lead.
New Britain (41-38) tied the game at 1-1 on consecutive two-out doubles in the top of the fifth inning by Tony Thomas and Mike Kvasnicka.
The Rock Cats threatened in the ninth. Aaron Hicks beat out an infield single and Kennys Vargas singled him to third. Hicks scored on a sacrifice fly to make it 3-2, but the Rock Cats could not produce the tying runs against Fisher Cats closer Gregory Infante.
Tyler Ybarra (4-3) earned the win with two scoreless innings in relief of Daniel Norris (5 IP- 1 ER- 6 K). Dustin Antolin worked a perfect eighth inning in relief. Infante earned his team-leading ninth save.
Pat Dean (6-3) lost for the first time since May 21, allowing three runs in 6.1 innings. Cole Johnson followed with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief for the Rock Cats.
The Fisher Cats head to Reading and will open a four-game series with the Fightin Phils on Monday at 7:05 p.m. RHP Scott Copeland (5-6, 3.68) starts for New Hampshire against Reading RHP Severino Gonzalez (4-9, 4.88). Game time is 7:05 p.m. and coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. with Bob Lipman on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and at www.nhfishercats.com.
