
First-Rounder Kyle Holder to Make Season Debut as Yankees Shuffle RiverDogs Roster

HICKORY, N.C.- Former first-rounder Kyle Holder will make his season debut on Friday night at L.P. Frans Stadium in the California shortstop's first appearance with the RiverDogs since 2016. In addition to adding Holder to the roster, the Yankees announced the following moves:
- Kyle Holder - Reinstated from Trenton 7-Day Disabled List, Transferred Trenton to Charleston
- Luis Cedeno - Released from Contract
- Dalton Blaser - Released from Contract
- Daniel Ramos - Reinstated from Charleston 7-Day Disabled List
Holder will bat second in the lineup on his 24th birthday on Friday night. In his first stint in the SALLY League, the San Diego native batted .290/.323/.347 with a home run and 18 RBI in 88 games in his first full season in 2016. After a promotion to Tampa, the lefty bat hit to the tune of a .271 average while posting the fourth-lowest plate appearance to strike out ratio (7.13) in the Florida State League last year. He posted a scorching second-half of the season, going 67-for-193 (.347) after the All-Star break before a stint in the Arizona Fall League. He spent the opening portion of 2018 on Double-A Trenton's disabled list.
The RiverDogs (20-25) continue their eight-day road trip, starting a four-game weekend tilt with the Hickory Crawdads, the Class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, on Friday night at L.P. Frans Stadium. The game will be broadcast on WTMA 1250 AM and online streaming at riverdogs.com and the RiverDogs TuneIn radio station.
