First Place Slammers Return to Silver Cross Field Thursday

(Joliet, IL) - The Joliet Slammers are in first place in the Frontier League's East Division and their promotions continue to be the best in the league as well. Slammers fans can look forward to a fun-filled three-game series with the Lake Erie Crushers starting Thursday at Silver Cross Field.

On Thursday, July 21, the Slammers are celebrating Silver Cross Field's 10th Anniversary. There will be surprise giveaways to lucky rows and seats throughout the game. In addition, every fan will get a piece of anniversary cake courtesy of Milano Bakery as they leave the game. It's the second of four Budweiser Pint Glass giveaways so arrive early as only the first 500 fans 21 and older get a pint glass. Collect them all! Since it's a Thursday home game, $1.50 draft beers will be available at the Sweet Baby Rays stand beyond the left field fence. Kids are encouraged to stay after and run the bases. All the fun begins at 7:05 p.m. Central Time and the gates open at 6:05. Get in line early so you get your pint glass and quench your thirst.

Last Friday was the Slammers biggest crowd of the year and this Fireworks Friday promises to be just as fun. It's our "Salute to Hair Bands" night. Fans can look forward to an evening full of classic '80's music and some wacky surprises. Stay late for the most spectacular fireworks show that can be found in Will County. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Central Time on Friday, July 22.

Saturday, July 23 is another premium giveaway. This time the Slammers are giving away a mini bat to the first 500 fans through the gates. It's an earlier start time as the first pitch is at 6:05 p.m. Central Time. Gates open at 5:05, so get to the game early to get your bat! After the game kids can once again run the bases.
