Allen Americans News Release
Allen Texas- The Allen Americans host the top-seeded Wichita Thunder tonight at the Allen Event Center.
The Americans fell one point behind Wichita last night in the CHL standings after Allen's 2-1 loss to Denver, combined with Wichita's 6-2 win over the Tulsa Oilers.
"We didn't play the first, well the first two periods, last night," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. 'How you go from 7 shots in the first two periods, to 20 in the third...we looked like a completely different team in final twenty minutes."
The Americans are 4-1-2 lifetime against Wichita, including a 3-1-0 mark at Allen Event Center. The Americans only loss in regulation to the Thunder came last season.
Allen will get help on the blue-line tonight with the return of defenseman Mike Montgomery, who was reassigned to the Americans from Allen's AHL affiliate, Houston this morning.
