October 26, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) travels to Kansas City to take on Sporting KC in the final regular season contest of 2018 on Sunday, October 28 at Children's Mercy Park. LAFC currently sits in second place in the Western Conference with a 16-8-9 (57 points) record, one point behind SKC.
With a win on Sunday, LAFC would clinch the top seed in the Western Conference, becoming the first expansion team in league history to finish in first place in its respective conference in its debut campaign. Last weekend, the Black & Gold set a new MLS record for most points earned in an inaugural season with 57, passing Bob Bradley's 1998 Chicago Fire (56 points).
Earlier this season, Sporting KC handed LAFC its first and only home loss of the season, defeating the Black & Gold 2-0 on August 11 at Banc of California Stadium.
Sunday afternoon's contest will kick off at 1:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on FS1 and FOX Deportes, as well as over the airwaves on the ESPN app and 980 AM 'La Mera La Mera'.
