Odessa Jackalopes News Release
The Jackalopes recently capped off 2005 with a very impressive 6 game win streak and continued to build on a franchise high 10 game home winning streak in the month of December. The Jacks are now 18-8-3 and sitting atop the Central Hockey League's Southwest Division by 10 points over Lubbock and 13 points over Amarillo. The so called "home cooking" in December leads right into the annual Rodeo Road Trip that will see the Jackalopes on the road three consecutive weeks. To follow all the Jackalopes action in January you can turn to 97 Gold (96.9), which will broadcast every game in its entirety.
Paul Davies Road Diary
This month Jackalope Paul Davies will give his insight of the "Rodeo Road Trip". Each week in the month of January there will be a blog entry into his diary. This special article will feature how life on the road in the Central Hockey League can be, as well as different stories, superstitions and of course how fans on the road react to the Jackalopes. Fans will have the opportunity to check the Jackalopes website at www.jackalopes.org and write questions to Paul, that he will try to answer in the final entry at the end of January.

"Cool" Promotions in January
Even with the rodeo in Ector County Coliseum for most of the month of January the Jackalopes still have three home games at the "Jack Shack" and each game offers something special to fans. Below you can see the great promotions and giveaways for this month. Friday, January 27th - vs Bossier - Shreveport: Players will be wearing special designed "State of Texas" jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Also fans will have a chance to win free lottery tickets before and during the game.
Saturday, January 28th - vs Lubbock: Players will once again wear the "State of Texas" jerseys and several fans will have the opportunity to take part in the yearly "Cash Drop." A Midland Memorial Hospital / Sportscare "Post Game Skate" is scheduled for after the game.
Tuesday, January 31st - vs Amarillo: Law Enforcement Night dedicated to all the wonderful work that the police do in the Permian Basin. Also Player Photos (Mike Gorman, Jeff Ewasko and Dominic Leveille.)

Jackalopes to help with Blood Drive
Monday, January 30th from 11 AM to 8 PM, United Blood Services of Odessa will be holding an annual blood drive at 3952 E. 42nd Street (Santa Fe Square Shopping Center.) The Jackalopes are also asking everyone to come out and show their support at this event. Every time a person gives blood they will be rewarded with a specially designed "Give Blood, Play Hockey" T-shirt and a pair of tickets to the hockey game the following night against the Amarillo Gorillas while supplies last. This event will also showcase different Jackalope player's throughout the afternoon, which means it will be a great opportunity to pick up autographs.

West Texas Sports Banquet
The Jackalopes and RockHounds are proud to announce that they will once again hold the annual benefit banquet on Thursday, February 2nd, with all the proceeds going to benefit the Special Olympics and Casa De Amigos. This year the banquet will be held at the Holiday Inn in Midland and will feature ex-major league pitcher Tommy John, RockHounds manager Von Hayes, Jackalope Coach Don McKee and some of your favorite Jackalope players. There will also be a live and silent auction of some of the best sports memorabilia around. For tickets to this event you can call the ticket office at 432-520-2255. Three Players selected as All-Stars
This past week the Central Hockey League released that Mike Gorman has been chosen as the starter for the Southern Conference in the annual All-Star game. So far this season Mike leads the entire Central Hockey League in Goals Against Average and has been a crucial part in the Jackalopes success so far this season. Gorman has already won two Central Hockey League player of the Week awards and has put up two shutout performances this year. This will be Mike's third all-star game. Joining Mike on the All-Star team will be Sebastien Thinel (fourth straight selection) and Dominic Leveille (selected as a rookie). The game is set for Wednesday, January 18th in Hidalgo, Texas as the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees host the event. Cox Communications College Classic Set
With the dawning of a new year, baseball turns the corner and will be back on the diamond very soon. The second annual Cox Communications College Classic is set for three days in the month of February (Thursday, February 23rd, Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th) at Citibank Ballpark. There is still time to sign up for your season tickets so that you can have first choice of seats for this tournament. This year's field will include Texas Tech, Oral Roberts, Texas - Arlington and Dallas Baptist. Check the RockHounds website (www.midlandrockhounds.org) for game times in the coming weeks.
