Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees today announced the addition of upgraded radio equipment which will make for clearer, crisper broadcasts and a more pleasing listening experience for fans.

The team recently purchased a Comrex Hotline, which is an audio codec capable of sending high quality audio over standard phone lines. This replaces the previous equipment, which sent audio to the station via a standard phone call.

"From day one, our broadcaster Rich (Bocchini) pushed to upgrade our radio gear," said Killer Bees General Manager Grant Buckborough. "Through talking to fans, we found that they didn't like listening to what was essentially a three-hour phone call on the air. Our new equipment will make the broadcasts more enticing for our fans and our sponsors, and ultimately, a better product."

Fans listening online will not hear the full effect of the new equipment due to the way the broadcasts are streamed. However, the Killer Bees, BMP Radio and BroadcastMonsters.com have made adjustments to improve the audio quality of online broadcasts.
