Louisville Bats News Release

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Louisville Bats secured a winning road trip with a 2-0 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Park.

Three pitches into the ballgame is all it took for the Bats to take a 1-0 lead behind second baseman Carlos Triunfel's first home run of the season. Quickly the lead was 2-0 when third baseman Jermaine Curtis homered with two outs in the first inning, Curtis tied the team-lead for home runs with four.

Louisville's starter right hander Keyvius Sampson (2-1, 2.13) was brilliant in his five innings of work, giving up three hits and zero runs while striking out five in the win. He has not allowed an earned run in 17 and two-thirds as a Bats starter this season.

The biggest threat for the IronPigs came in the sixth inning when they stranded runners on first and third but other than that it was all Bats.

IronPigs left hander James Russell (1-1, 1.47) was handed the loss after he pitched five innings, gave up two runs on four hits and struck out four batters.

In his first appearance back from the majors, right hander Steve Delabar notched his fourth save of the season to cap off the Bats 2-0 win. The Bats bullpen has not allowed a run in their last three games, spanning 10 and one-third innings.

The Bats will complete their six game road trip tomorrow afternoon with a 1:35 start time at Coca-Cola Park. Left hander Cody Reed (3-2, 2.21) will take the mound for the Bats and the IronPigs will send RHP Zach Eflin (5-0, 2.05) to the rubber.
