First 1,000 Fans To Receive Free BBQ At Roughnecks April 17 Home Game

MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks announced on Thursday, April 15, from a press conference held at the Hog Pit Pub & Grub in Midland, that the first 1,000 fans in attendance at the Roughnecks upcoming home game against the Austin Turfcats on April 17, will receive free barbeque courtesy of the Hog Pit, First Staffing Group and KMID-2. Kickoff for the upcoming Roughnecks home game will be at 7:11 p.m. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and the tailgate party will begin at 5:00 p.m. from the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa. It is the first home game for the Roughnecks since Saturday, March 13 when the Roughnecks faced the Amarillo Venom.

"We would like to thank the Hog Pit and all the featured sponsors for helping us with this special promotion. We are looking forward to this very exciting event on Saturday and we hope the Permian Basin community will feel the same." stated West Texas Roughnecks Team Owner Dale Morris.

Following their meeting with the Austin Turfcats on April 17, the Roughnecks will then host the San Angelo Stampede Express on Saturday, April 24. The game on April 24 will be played with pink footballs for Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The proceeds from the pink football auctions will go to support the American Cancer Society. ROUGHNECKS MAKE CHANGES WITHIN FRONT OFFICE -

The Roughnecks professional football organization additionally announced on April 15 that the team has parted ways with General Manager Harold Fuller, along with Director of Business Operations Mercedes Fuller. Harold Fuller was named the General Manager of the Roughnecks back in October of 2008 and became the Executive General Manager of Allegiance Pro Sports, Inc. mid-way through the 2009 IFL regular season. Before parting ways with the organization, Fuller was in his second season as General Manager of the Roughnecks.

ROUGHNECKS ANNOUNCE ROSTER CHANGES -

The West Texas Roughnecks also announced on April 15 that the team has acquired DB Ricky Wilson from the Amarillo Venom in a trade for future considerations. Wilson (5'10", 185 lbs.) played collegiately at Northern Arizona where he was named an All-American and All-Big Sky Conference selection in 2007, and an All-Big Sky Conference selection in 2006.
