Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Saturday, June 30, to open a four-game homestand against the division-rival Iowa Cubs (Cubs affiliate).
Highlighting the homestand's worth of promotions will be two fireworks shows, a Sounds baseball card team set giveaway, and a Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHTSî concert.
The division-rival Cubs visit Music City for the first time in 2012 for Saturday night's 6:35 p.m. action-packed homestand opener. The first 2,000 fans will receive a 2012 Sounds baseball card team set as they enter the gates, thanks to Coca-Cola. A collection drive will be held at the ballpark and fans are invited to bring new and used books for all ages for the non-profit organization Book 'em. Combined with postgame fireworks, courtesy of Nashville's NEWS 2, Saturday evening is another can't miss night at the ballpark with the Nashville Sounds! Gates open at 5:35 p.m.
Prior to Sunday's 6:35 p.m. contest, musical artist World Outreach Worship will perform a Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHTSî pregame concert on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance approximately one hour before the first pitch. Also, the family-friendly Faith & Family Sunday will occur, when fans can receive half off of reserved or general admission tickets when a church or community bulletin is displayed at the box office. Limit eight tickets per bulletin and only redeemable on the day of game. Gates open a half-hour earlier than normal at 5:05 p.m.
The third game of the four-game series with the Cubs on Monday will be Dollar Hot Dog Night, when hot dogs continue to be only $1 at concession stands all night long. First pitch is 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6:05 p.m.
The Sounds conclude their homestand on Tuesday evening with a special postgame Independence Holiday Fireworks Celebration immediately following the action on the field, courtesy of Nashville International Airport. The Sounds will be wearing commemorative Stars & Stripes Hats for the game. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6:05 p.m.
Following the homestand, Nashville will embark upon a five-game road trip at cross-state rival Memphis (Cardinals affiliate) before the Sounds break for three days for the Triple-A All Star Game on Wednesday, July 10 at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, New York. Following the All-Star break, the Sounds return home to Greer Stadium on Thursday, July 14 to open an eight-game homestand with the Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers affiliate) and Round Rock Express (Rangers affiliate).
Individual and season tickets, as well as group packages, are currently on sale. Call (615) 690-HITS or visit the Sounds' website at www.nashvillesounds.com/tickets to order or for more information.
