Fireworks, Giveaways Galore for Tortugas over the Weekend

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Tortugas wrap up their seven-game homestand at Jackie Robinson Ballpark starting on Friday, June 7, as they welcome the Clearwater Threshers, High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, for a three-game series. Among the highlights is Star Wars Night on Friday, a Vince Carter bobblehead giveaway on Saturday, a T-Shirt giveaway on Sunday, and a pair of postgame firework shows.

The Force will be strong at The Jack on June 7 as we continue our Best Dressed Friday promotion with our annual Star Wars Night. Tortugas' players and coaches will wear special themed uniforms in honor of legendary Sci-Fi movie series. The jerseys will be auctioned off throughout the course of the weekend. In addition, Star Wars characters and other themed items will be a part of the festivities. Fans are encouraged to come to the park thirsty, as we kick off the night with our Friday Night Happy Hour presented by Kona Brewing. Patrons can enjoy buy-one, get-one Kona beer products, and Bud Light from 5:30 p.m. until first pitch. After the final out, fans will be treated to another splendid Postgame Fireworks display. First pitch for the lid-lifter is set for 7:05 p.m.

Fun and games continue in Daytona Beach with a Shell-tastic Saturday on June 8 with special events occurring on the concourse. Those who plan on attending are advised to arrive at the ballpark early, as the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a limited edition Vince Carter bobblehead giveaway in honor of Daytona Beach's legendary future Basketball Hall-of-Famer. Once again, following the final out of the contest, those in attendance will be enthralled by yet another marvelous Postgame Fireworks show. Game two of the series is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m.

The seven-game homestand comes to its conclusion with #Nice Night on Sunday, June 9. The first 500 people through the gates that evening will receive a special #Nice T-Shirt Giveaway. It will be another Tiny Tugas Night featuring special activities and experiences for all members and Kids Run the Bases following the contest. The final home game of the season's first half will kickstart at 5:35 p.m.
