ABOUT LAST GAME: Runs were hard to come by on Monday in Columbia's series finale against Lakewood. After nine scoreless innings, the BlueClaws plated five runs in he top of the 10th and eventually defeated the Fireflies, 5-1. Columbia still won the series (three games to one). David Peterson over-powered Lakewood for seven innings and posted his best outing of the season. The southpaw struck out eight, walked one and allowed just three hits.

DONUTS: For the first time ever, Columbia completed nine innings of a game (Monday) without runs. The Fireflies played in their fifth extra-inning game of the season but dropped to 3-2 in those contests.

ONE STREAK ENDS...: Jeremy Vasquez did in fact go hitless on Monday and did not reach base safely for the first time all season. Vasquez's 29-game on-base streak is a franchise record. The first baseman is still at the top of the league in a number of statistical categories:

1st, OBP - .457

1st, BBs - 23

2nd, BA - .343

2nd, 2Bs - 9

3rd, Hits - 35

4th, SLG - .559

4th, XBH - 14

...ANOTHER CONTINUES: Catcher Scott Manea doubled and was hit by a pitch twice on Monday. Manea is on quite the on-base streak as well. The Massachusetts native has reached safely in 13 straight games and owns an absurd .521 on-base percentage during that stretch (since April 21). That includes eight hits, 10 walks and 7 HBPs.

WELCOME TO THE BIGS: On Monday, 2016 Firefly and Mets Minor League Pitcher of the Year P.J. Conlon made his Major League debut for New York. The southpaw started against the Reds in Cincinnati and logged 3.2 innings. Conlon struck out a batter, scattered four hits and even recorded a base hit of his own in his second at-bat. The 24-year-old is the second Firefly to reach the majors
