Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats would like to formally announce, in conjunction with the Lee County School District, their support of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).

The FCAT tests students in reading, math, and language arts. It is used by Florida schools to assess overall learning, and each student is required to pass the FCAT prior to graduation..

The Florida Firecats have issued 27,000 free game vouchers to the Lee County school system for those students who successfully completed the FCAT. The Firecats offered the free voucher to every school in Lee County, and they received response from 25% of the schools. Upon redemption at the Firecats front office, the voucher gets every student a ticket to a pre-selected game free of charge, with a paying parent or guardian. Students are encouraged to support their schools by wearing their school colors.

Every participating school will also receive acknowledge on the TECO Arena matrix board throughout the game, as well as public address announcements thanking each participant. Principals of each school will also receive special acknowledgement during the Firecat halftime presentation.

The Firecats kick off their season on April 10 at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets are available now! You can still get great seats by calling the front office at (239) 390-2287.
