FLINT, Mich. - The Firebirds hit the ice on Saturday with points in three straight, in four of their last five and in six of their last eight games. On Friday night in Sarnia they continued that streak by picking up a single point in an overtime loss to the Sting. Though they remain in the eighth playoff spot and are guaranteed to play in the postseason, the Birds sit one point back of Owen Sound in seventh, and two points behind both Erie and Guelph who are tied for the fifth-most points in the Western Conference. Only four games remain in the regular season, with all sights set on Windsor on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Dort Financial Center

LAST TIME OUT: Four different Firebirds scored in Sarnia on Friday, including two goals from Oliver Peer, and Flint erased a 5-3 deficit to force overtime. It was the Sting though who found twine 30 seconds into overtime to send Flint home with a single point for the standings. Peer also picked up an assist for his seventh three-point game of the season and surpassed the 150-point milestone for his career. Roberto Mancini, Jeremy Martin, and Connor Clattenburg also lit the lamp for the Firebirds in the OT loss. Mancini is now on a five-game point streak with three goals and three assists in that span.

SERIES HISTORY: Saturday marks the sixth and final meeting between these division foes this season and is the third and final contest at the Dort Financial Center. Through the first five tilts, Flint has won three times and lost twice. Their all-time record against the Spits is 17-28-3-1 with an 11-13-3-0 mark on home ice in the series. Peer technically has the most points in the series, earning seven (3 G, 4 A) as a Spitfire and four more (1 G, 3 A) since joining the Firebirds. Nolan Dann leads Flint in the series with five goals and three assists and Windsor is topped by Liam Greentree's eight points (2 G, 6 A).

SCOUTING THE SPITFIRES: (18-37-5-3, 5th West Division) -

Liam Greentree continues to pile on the points, now with 33 goals and 51 assists for a total of 84. Livonia, Mich. native Ryan Abraham is second with 57 points from 27 goals and 30 helpers. Former Saginaw winger Valentin Zhugin ranks third on the Spit's roster with 41 total points (18 G, 23 A).

Between the pipes, Max Donoso has 13 wins in 41 appearances. His goals-against average is 4.09 and his save percentage sits at .875. Joey Costanzo has ten wins through 37 appearances and carries a 5.09 GAA with an .855 SV%.

Windsor's power play is operating at the 12th-best efficiency, scoring on 20.2% of their chances. Its penalty kill is operating at a 74.4% pace, good for 18th.

SCOUTING THE FIREBIRDS: (29-30-4-1, 3rd West Division):

Oliver Peer leads the squad with 34 tallies and 42 helpers for 76 points on the season. He rides a four-game point streak into tonight's contest, having two goals and five assists in that span. Nolan Dann ranks second with 61 points, stemming from 27 goals and 34 assists. Anaheim Ducks prospect Coulson Pitre is third with 55 points (27 G, 28 A). ]

Nathan Day has 25 wins in 52 appearances for the season. His goals-against average is 3.74 and he sports an .868 save percentage. Jacob Brown is credited with four victories across 16 appearances. His GAA stands at 4.27 and his SV% is .852.

The Firebirds rank 17th on the power play, scoring at a 17.6% clip. The penalty kill is 12th in the OHL with a 78.5% success rate.
