
Firebirds Acquire Defenseman Marko Stojkov from Peterborough

Flint, Mich. - The Flint Firebirds announced today the acquisition of defenseman Marko Stojkov (pronounced stoi-kov) from the Peterborough Petes for a 2023 12th-round pick (Originally from Guelph).
The 2004-born defenseman Stojkov comes from the J20 Nationell league in Sweden where he played for Frolunda HC J20. With the HC J20 team, he had 1 A and was +8 in 19 GP in the last two seasons. He has spent almost three years in the Frolunda organization, with his career-best season coming with the J18 team where he produced 3 G, 12 A and was +19 in 22 GP.
The left-shot defenseman hails from Mississauga, Ont. He was a 12th-round pick (#235 overall) of Peterborough in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection and stands at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds.
