Fayetteville Marksmen News Release
[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] â The Cape Fear FireAntz of the South East Hockey League (SEHL) announced today that the club has waived defenseman Mike Fournier. Dave Leger has been added to the roster to take the place of Fournier.
Fournier, a 6'4" 200 pound defenseman, from Worcester, Massachusetts, played six games for the FireAntz this season. In those games, Fournier tallied three points and 15 penalty minutes.
The FireAntz have added Dave Leger to take the place of Fournier on the roster. Leger, a 5'10" 195 pound defenseman, from Ottawa, Ontario, played three games this season with the Winston-Salem Hockey Team of the South East Hockey League. Last season, Leger played for the Miramichi Timberwolves of the MJAHL, where he tallied 37 points and 327 penalty minutes in 47 games played.
"Dave is a hard nosed young defenseman that I originally spoke to about coming here at the beginning of the season". Head coach Scott Rex added, "I saw him play with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL and he really impressed me."
The FireAntz play host to the Knoxville Ice Bears on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15. Both games start at 7:35 pm. The FireAntz have announced that Saturday night's game will be Church Night. Any groups of 15 or more members of a church group get their tickets at a discounted rate. Great seats are still available.
