Fayetteville Marksmen News Release
[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that the club has signed forward Zech Klann. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Klann, a 6'1, 190-pound forward from Newport, Rhode Island joins the FireAntz after playing the 2007-08 season with the Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League (CHL). In 57 games played, he totaled eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points. He also tallied 50 penalty minutes.
"Klann comes highly recommended from Austin." Head Coach Tommy Stewart said, "He's a very hard-working forward who can play all three positions. He excels on the penalty kill and 5-on-5 so I expect him to do a bit of everything."
Klann will suit up for his first home action with the club on Friday, February 9th as the FireAntz host the Columbus Cottonmouths at the Crown Coliseum at 7:35 pm. Group tickets are available from the FireAntz office at (910) 321-0123.
