Fayetteville Marksmen News Release

The Fayetteville FireAntz, of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), announced Wednesday that the team has high scoring forward Darcy Vaillancourt. Terms of the deals have not been released, per club policy. With the signing the FireAntz are now at 18 players, including six returners, for the upcoming season.

Vaillancourt, 26, is a 5'10'', 170 pound forward from Bonfield, Ontario. He played most recently, professionally, in Germany. In two seasons he scored 52 goals, 61 assists and 113 points in only 53 games played.

In four seasons at Elmira College Vaillancourt averaged over a point-per-game tallying 48 goals, 63 assists and 111 points in 98 games played.

"Adding firepower was a priority this offseason and Darcy should be a top offensive performer in this league." Head Coach Emery Olauson added, "We expect that he will continue to produce the way he has in college as well as professionally."

"With the addition of Vaillancourt we have further addressed one of our team needs, which was offense."
