SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The Mississippi RiverKings have acquired the rights to forward Cody Dion from the Knoxville IceBears for future considerations, RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today.

"Cody is a big skilled forward," Landmesser said. "He skates well and will add offense for us up front."

Dion, 24, split time in 2013-14 between the IceBears and the CHL's Tulsa Oilers. He scored 20 points (11g, 9a) in 25 games for the IceBears. The 6-foor-4, 200-pound Dion was a plus-5 rating and had two four-game scoring streaks during his time in Knoxville. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native played 17 games for Tulsa. There he added two assists for the Oilers. Prior to that Dion spent two seasons in Finland, where he produced 44 points (29g, 15a) in 51 games for two different teams.

The RiverKings open their 2014-15 quest for the President's Cup on October 24 and 25 at the Landers Center in Southaven, Miss. Receive a ticket to both games that weekend starting at $17 and get a free t-shirt. Groups of 15 or more who purchase tickets will receive complimentary tickets to a future RiverKings home game.
