
FireAntz Cermak Named SEHL Player of the Week

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] â The South East Hockey League (SEHL) announced today that Peter Cermak has been named Player of the Week. The native of Bratislava, Slovakia scored five goals in a 7-6 overtime victory on November 14th against Knoxville. At 2:15 of overtime, Cermak scored his fifth, and game winning goal. Cermak added three assists on the week, giving him eight points in two games played. He has taken over the league lead in both points with 15 and goals with 8. Cermak is also third in the SEHL in assists with 7.
Keeping the South East Hockey League weekly awards in Cape Fear, Geoff Derouin and Trevor Prior were named co-goaltenders of the week. Both goaltenders led the FireAntz to a weekend sweep of the Knoxville Ice Bears. Prior, from Guelph, Ontario, and Derouin, from Fort St. John, British Columbia, combined to stop 57 of 65 shots in the weekend series. Prior played last season in England for the Sheffield Steelers while this is Derouin's third stay in Cape Fear; having played for the city's team in two other leagues.
The FireAntz play host to the Knoxville Ice Bears on Friday, November 21st. Game time is 7:35 pm. The FireAntz have announced that Saturday night's game will be a Cram the Crown Blowout Special. Any groups of 50 or more people will receive their tickets for $250. That's only $5 a ticket. In addition the first 250 fans in attendance will receive thundersticks courtesy of Valley Auto World and the Fayetteville Observer. Call the FireAntz office at 910-321-0123 for more information.
