Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings News Release
Harlingen - Tied 4-4 after the first inning, the Harlingen Fire Department (1-0) switched Jose Molina (1-0) to stymie the Harlingen Police Department (0-2) attack in a 9-6 victory today at Harlingen Field.
The two teams sold tickets tonight's game to raise $369 for charity. The winning team, the HFD, gets to donate the money to the charity of their choice. They are making the donation to the Firefighters' Association Community Relations Fund.
The Police were held score less for four innings before getting back on the board with two runs in the sixth to close to within 8-6.
The Firefighters responded with one run in the bottom of the inning, however, to put the game out of reach.
The WhiteWings and Dillas play game three of A four-game series tonight at 7:05. Right-hander Reymond Cruz (4-3) is expected to face left-hander Jesse Rodriguez (1-1).
