
Final Homestand Features Fireworks, Bobble Heads

WILMINGTON, DE â The Wilmington Blue Rocks return home for the final homestand of the 2003 season as they host the Potomac Cannons from Friday, August 29 through Labor Day, Monday, September 1. Fireworks and Rocky Bluewinkle bobble head dolls are highlighted in the four-game series.
On Friday, August 29, the Blue Rocks open the four-game series with the Potomac Cannons at 7:05 p.m. Prior to the game, the Blue Rocks will honor the winners of the 2003 Christina Care Triple Play Challenge. Also, the 2003 Little League Mid-Atlantic region champion Naamans All-Stars will be featured on the field. Ashley Melnick, the inaugural BR Idol contest winner, will perform the national anthem. Following the game, Christiana Care presents fireworks for all fans in attendance.
On Saturday, August 30, the first 1,500 fans receive batting helmets courtesy of Cingular Wireless. Prior to the 7:05 p.m. game, the Blue Rocks will honor their 2003 season ticket holders. Ms. Delaware Princess Amanda Desillippis will be in attendance and throw out an honorary first pitch. Following the game, the Rocks will hold their final Hooters Launch-A-Ball contest of the year.
On Sunday, August 31, the Rocks and Cannons battle at 1:35 p.m. as Lt. Governor John Carney presents the Lt. Governor's Fitness Challenge. The first 1,500 fans receive a cap when they enter Frawley Stadium. Val Whiting, a former member of the WNBA, will throw out an honorary first pitch. Following the game, Al's Sporting Goods presents the final Al's Diamond Derby of the season.
On Labor Day, Monday, September 1, the Rocks and Cannons will conclude the 2003 regular season with a matinee 1:05 p.m. start. The first 1,250 fans will receive a Rocky Bluewinkle bobble head doll, courtesy of Dietz & Watson.
