AMARILLO, TX - Amarillo Dillas batter Carlos Figueroa extended his league-high hit streak to 13 games on Thursday and also hit in the game-winning runs in the ninth inning as the Dillas defeated the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 11-10 in front of 2,163 fans at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa.

Dillas reliever Ramon Geronimo (2-0) got the win, pitching a hitless ninth inning with a strikeout. WhiteWings closer Anderson Garcia (1-1) got the loss, giving up the game-winning hit in the ninth.

The WhiteWings started the scoring in the rainy first inning with three runs off four hits. The Dillas TJ Warren would score in the second inning on a Jermel Lomack RBI single, but Rio Grande Valley added four more in the third off four more hits for a 7-1 WhiteWings lead.

Amarillo came back to tie the game in the third. Figueroa hit a one-out triple, followed by a Daryl Jones RBI double and a Stephen Douglas RBI single. Douglas went to second on an error and stole third. Warren singled to score Douglas, while a Brian Bueno single and a Jermel Lomack walk loaded the bases. Adam De La Garza was hit by a pitch to bring home Warren, while Bueno and Lomack scored on a Joaquin Rodriguez double to tie the game 7-7.

The Dillas took the lead in the fourth as Douglas hit a one-out triple, followed by an Alberto Cruz RBI double. Cruz would score on a Bueno RBI single for a two-run lead. The WhiteWings got one run back in the sixth on an Arlon Quiroz RBI single to make the score 9-8 in favor of Amarillo.

In the seventh, the WhiteWings took the lead with a two-run homerun by Roberto Rodriguez for a 10-9 lead. Following the benches clearing twice in the seventh and five ejections later, the score remained at one.

In the ninth, Warren led off with a single while Bueno was hit by a pitch. Lomack hit a sacrifice bunt to move the runners over, while De La Garza was intentionally walked to load the bases. Following a Geronimo popout, Figueroa singled in Warren and Bueno for the walkoff 11-10 win.
