Colts Drop Final Game of Series vs. Laredo

San Angelo Colts News Release
Laredo, Texas--- In the final game of a four game series the Colts would try to get out of Laredo with a split after dropping two of the first three games. San Angelo sent out Brian Henschel against Juan Peralta for Laredo. It would be more hard luck for Henschel and it would be Peralta who tremendous as the victor.
The Colts would go down early as former Colts member Nick Mahin (2) hit a two run homer in the bottom of the first as Laredo jumped out quickly to a 2-0 lead. The Broncos would get two more in the fourth on an RBI single by Jake Wells that drove in two, and it was 4-0 Laredo. The Colts however would add a run in the top of the sixth to cut it to 4-1.
The Broncos scored three more in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Doug Thennis, an RBI single by Ryan Flynn and a Colts error, and put the game out of reach at 7-1. San Angelo would add two in the ninth on a Trey Carter (5) homerun that made it 7-3, but it would be too little to late as that would be the final
San Angelo received another strong effort by starter Brian Henschel who goes eight innings in the loss, his second complete games loss of the season. Bronco's starter held the Colts down all game, going seven innings, allowing just two hits, three walks, while striking out five.
The Colts head home on Friday to begin the first eight game homestand of the season starting with a four game set against Rio Grande Valley as they take on the WhiteWings for the first time this season. San Angelo sends out southpaw Aaron Cunningham against right-hander Luis Montano for Rio Grande Valley. It all begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 with the first pitch at 7:05 on 1260 KKSA.
