
Figueroa Named MWL Hitter of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN - Fort Wayne TinCaps INF Cole Figueroa was named the Midwest League Hitter of the Week on Monday. The University of Florida product went 10-for-19 during the week with three doubles, four runs scored and six RBIs. It is the fifth weekly award given to a TinCaps player. Figueroa also drew six walks during the week. Entering play Monday, he was hitting .360 with Fort Wayne. He opened the season with Advanced-A Lake Elsinore, where he hit .187 with nine RBIs and five stolen bases. Figueroa was drafted by the Padres last year in the 6th round. The TinCaps return to Parkview Field on Wednesday to open a six-game homestand against the Clinton LumberKings (Class-A Seattle Mariners) and Quad Cities River Bandits (Class-A St. Louis Cardinals). First pitch on Wednesday is slated for 7:05pm.
