CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The Dubuque Fighting Saints (12-2-1-2, 27 pts) hit the road on Saturday night to take on the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (8-7-1-1, 18 pts).

Here are five things to know ahead of the matchup:

1. It's Been Awhile

Saturday will be the second meeting of the season between the Saints and Riders. The first was all the way back on Sept. 30. The Saints fought for a 4-1 win on the RoughRiders' opening night.

The victory was Kevin Reidler's first in the USHL and started an ongoing stretch of 11 wins in the last 14 games for Dubuque.

2. Seeing Double

In Friday night's 6-5 win at Waterloo, Nick Romeo and Erik Påhlsson each scored twice. For Romeo, they were the first two goals of his USHL career. The first was a between-the-legs shot that brought the Saints back even after a 3-0 deficit early in the game. His second came with 1:05 left in regulation to give Dubuque the lead.

Påhlsson extended his USHL-leading point-total to 25 with his pair of goals. He also brought his point-streak to nine games. In those nine games, Påhlsson has seven goals and 13 total points.

3. Saints Saves

Kevin Reidler was busy the entire night on Friday in Waterloo, starting off with facing 20 shots in the first period. Reidler made multiple acrobatic saves later in the game to keep Dubuque in range of the lead.

In total, Reidler made 34 saves on 39 shots to earn his ninth win of the season.

4. Fighting Until the End

Dubuque continued its dominance in the third period in Friday's win. The Fighting Saints have now scored 34 goals in 17 games during the third period this season. That is 11 more goals than they have allowed in the third period.

In their last four wins, the Saints have either erased a deficit or scored multiple times in the third period to secure each game.

5. Horsing Around

Cedar Rapids enters after falling at home 5-3 to the Chicago Steel on Friday night. The loss broke a six-game point streak for Cedar Rapids.

The Riders are led by early-season acquisition Amine Hajibi, who joined the Riders from Green Bay four games into the season. He has 11 assists and 15 points to lead the RoughRiders.

In Friday's loss, the RoughRiders allowed just 21 shots, but surrendered five goals to the Steel.

Saturday's puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CST. The game can be heard on Eagle 102.3 and seen on FloHockey.
