Frisco Fighters News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco Fighters and head coach Billy Back announced the signing of offensive lineman Saige Young to the 2023 roster.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound lineman joins the Fighters from the Fan Controlled Football League. Young spent his collegiate career at Vanderbilt University, where he appeared in 29 games over three seasons. In 2018, he was a part of an offensive line that allowed only 1.7 sacks per game, ranking sixth in the SEC. That season, he helped post the second-highest rushing total in team history with 1,244 yards and contributed to team averages of 28.6 points per game and 411.8 yards per game, ranking among the team's best in the past four decades. Prior to transferring to Vanderbilt, the Versailles, Kentucky native spent his freshman year at Dodge City Community College (NJCAA), where he received an All-Conference honorable mention in 2016.
"Saige is all that you want in an offensive lineman," said Back. "He's been battle-tested in the SEC at Vanderbilt and has been grinding to reach the top. He's another guy that has the potential to go places. If he dominates like we think he should, he will."
The Frisco Fighters return to the field in March 2023. Squadron Memberships are on sale now and single-game tickets will be available at a later date.
