Frisco Fighters News Release

The Frisco Fighters passed through New England Saturday evening, sinking the Massachusetts Pirates' ship in a 40-33 road win, remaining undefeated.

Hauling in a contested throw, wide receiver Mark Munson broke the scoreboard's seal early into the game's opening frame. Shortly after the initial touchdown, quarterback Jonathan Bane and Munson connected to score for a second time.

Defending a short field after offense sputtered to start the second quarter, Frisco's defense dug in. Defensive end Sione Teuhema notched a sack to disrupt a Pirates' drive that ultimately ended in a missed field goal.

Two series later, after the Fighters' missed a field goal attempt of their own, Massachusetts' LaQuvionte Gonzalez secured his squad's first-and only-advantage of the night.

Frisco's Demarcus Felton found the endzone shortly thereafter, putting Frisco back on top. The score was followed by a successful onside kick, resulting in a one-yard rushing score for quarterback Jerrod Heard.

After heading into the half up 27-19, Heard extended the Fighters' lead with another touchdown. Felton punched the football in his second score of the night as the third quarter expired.

Although Pirates' quarterback kept his team in reach with a quarterback sneak late in the fourth quarter, Frisco's defense held its ground to go 4-0.
