Frisco Fighters News Release

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco Fighters head coach Billy Back, announced the re-signing of receiver Jerminic Smith for the 2023 season.

The 6-foot 190 pound Garland, Texas native re-joins the Fighters for another season. Last season, Smith received 2022 All-IFL First Team honors. Smith finished sixth in the league for receptions (63), third for yards (890) and fifth for touchdowns (19).

Smith attended the University of Iowa prior to signing with the Ottawa Redblacks (Canadian Football League) for the 2019 season. He finished the season with 87 total yards and a reception percentage of 72.2% before signing with the Frisco Fighters for the 2022 season.

Re-signing Jerminic is a big piece of our returning offense," says Back. "He's a quick and dynamic player that understands his position and the game. Smith is the total package that has the ability to play in the NFL. He's a local player, bringing the Texas pride that we are looking for with him."

The Frisco Fighters return to the field in March 2023. Squadron Memberships and single game tickets are on sale now.
