
Fielders Stun Goldeyes in Ninth

The ninth inning has not been kind to the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2010.
The Goldeyes gave up four runs in the final inning, blowing a 6-4 lead and losing 8-6 to the Lake County Fielders Tuesday night before 5,389 fans at Canwest Park.
Lake County used four hits in the ninth inning to take the lead and the win. All four hits were singles.
The Goldeyes have now been outscored 43-13 in the ninth inning this season.
Winnipeg was up 5-0 after the second inning, but slowly watched the lead slip away. Lake County replied with two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to cut the lead to just one. The Fish tallied another run in the bottom of the sixth.
Aharon Eggleston and Juan Diaz led Winnipeg by both going 4-for-5 at the plate.
Drew Shetrone came in to save the game in the ninth inning, but gets tagged with all four Fielders runs, a blown save and the loss.
Marco Gonzalez got the win for the Fielders, while former Fish Chris Homer gets the save.
Goldeyes Notes
The Goldeyes are back below .500 for the fourth time this season.
Lake County also pulled off a ninth-inning comeback on opening night for its only other win in Winnipeg this season.
In the four-run second inning, Winnipeg strung together five hits with two out.
Winnipeg has belted out 34 hits in the last two games.
Second baseman Price Kendall was injured in the first inning when his hand was stepped on as he slid into second base on a steal attempt. He left the game and was replaced by Kevin West, who moved over from first base.
