Kane County Cougars News Release
PEORIA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, announced today that right-handed pitcher Andrew Ferguson has been promoted from Extended Spring Training to be Sunday's starting pitcher at O'Brien Field against the Peoria Chiefs.
Ferguson went 0-3 with a 5.45 ERA in 20 relief appearances last year for Burlington after being drafted by the Royals with their 18th-round pick in last June's draft. Ferguson attended Arkansas State University, where he was used as a starter and was teammates with fellow Cougar, Murray Watts. To make room for Ferguson, left-handed pitcher Scott Alexander was transferred to the Surprise roster.
